Second Memorial Round Dance, March 18, 2023
St. Paul Recreation Centre, St. Paul Alberta
March 18, 2023, we are hosting our Second Memorial Round Dance, for Children who are missing, and those who passed away in Blue Quills Residental School, during its 90 years of operation. Additionally, during this Memorial Round Dance, we will also be memorializing and honoring, the Survivors who have made their journey to the spirit world. Families, please bring a framed photos of the children/Survivors if you want to participate in the traditional memorial. Please provide the framed photos, to the Stickman, and he will keep them at front, and give the photos to you when we begin the memorial.
Additionally, we will be honoring all the Blue Quills Survivors with our invited guests, in a blanket honoring ceremony. This will take place prior to the Memorial.
The Honoring Ceremony, Memorial, and give-away, will be held early in the evening to accommodate Survivors, but the Round Dance will go until the Stickmen feel necessary. This is to accommodate the singers who will be travelling to share their songs.
All Blue Quills Survivors,
Prior to the Round Dance, we will be having a Survivors meeting at 4:00 pm, at the St. Paul Recreation Centre, with the Round Dance pipe ceremony and feast, scheduled immediately after the meeting ends.
